Special Features

The Adelaide  Secondary School of English is the only South Australian government school that offers a full-time intensive English language program for secondary aged students. Students in junior and senior classes learn how the English language is used in each subject and gain important knowledge and skills in all high school subjects.

The school has a caring and industrious environment where students from all over the world will learn from and with each other.

Small classes (no more than 18 students) ensure that each student receives INDIVIDUAL attention.

The school has a professional and highly skilled staff which includes :
  • International student coordinator
  • Experienced and qualified English (ESL) and Subject Teachers
  • Library and Information Technology Teachers
  • Student Counsellors
  • Bilingual School Services Officers who help students in the classroom and also interpret and translate for families and the school.
  • Interpreters and translators to support administration and communication services.

Before graduating students undertake a transition program that helps them transfer to mainstream high schools. The Transition Coordinator assists students with their high school visits and transfers. Information evenings are held to provide families with necessary information.
